My Son

We learned a few weeks ago that we are going to have a son! We decided to name him Seth Andrew Holler. Seth means “appointed” or “chosen”, and Andrew means “man.”

I cannot wait to see his darling face. Does he look like his dad? It’s hard to believe that what was only a few busily-dividing cells now has distinct facial features that, if I could observe them today, I would recognize again at his birth. The psalmist says of God, “Your eyes have beheld my unformed substance…” (Ps. 139). It’s amazing that God can recognize those dividing cells as a distinct person, even as the same little boy he will appear to be at age 5.

Can’t wait to meet him and to know him.
